How to use TeleNav GPS Navigator
The TeleNav GPS Navigator menu option allows you to input a street address you wish to go to and get turn-by-turn directions as you travel to your destination.
Enter your destination
In order to get turn-by-turn directions, you must first enter a street address as your destination and you have a number of options available to do accomplish this.
- Key-in an address
You can input your destination using the keypad of your mobile device. - Call in an address
Call 877-886-9762 and follow the prompts in order to input your address. If the system doesn't recognize the mobile device you are calling from, caller ID may be temporarily unavailable. The system will prompt you for your TeleNav account number and PIN. - Use BizFinder
Although BizFinder is available from the main menu of TeleNav GPS Navigator, it is also available as an option to enter a destination. Use this to select a business in a city from a list of categories or key-in the name of one you want to find. - Preplan an address
If you know your destination in advance, you can log into My TeleNav and use the Preplan feature. When you launch TeleNav GPS Navigator on your mobile device and refresh the address list, your preplanned destination will appear.
Turn-by-turn navigation
After you tell TeleNav GPS Navigator where you want to go, it gives you detailed information regarding your trip including:
- The street you are currently travelling on
- The next street you should turn on and your distance from it
- The remaining distance and estimated duration of your trip
- Your compass heading and how fast you're moving
These turn-by-turn directions will be displayed on the screen of your mobile device and audibly announced.
If you miss a turn, don't worry. TeleNav will automatically find another way to get you to your destination.
How to use Biz Finder
Biz Finder helps you locate businesses such as restaurants, banks, hotels and gas stations. You can call a business once you've located it or get driving directions to that address. It is also possible to save a business location for future use or view a map of its immediate surroundings.
You can look up a business by location, by name, or by category. Some of the categories you can search by are:
- Gas By Price
- Money
- Dining
- Shopping
- Lodging
- Services
How to use maps
Maps show you where you are when you're in an unfamiliar neighborhood by giving you such information as the street you're on and the cross street. Along with voice directions, maps help you find the location of your destination easily.
You can zoom in and out, and surf the maps easily using your keypad.
TeleNav offers you up-to-date maps and you will never have to pay for map updates, or new maps.
