TeleNav Launches Turn-by-Turn GPS Navigation on the RIM BlackBerry 7100i

Feb 13, 2006

TeleNav Inc. today announced the availability of TeleNav's GPS Navigator, a Java-based GPS navigation application that offers visual and audible, turn-by-turn driving directions and mapping, on the BlackBerry 7100i™ from Research In Motion (RIM) .

TeleNav GPS Navigator first launched on the BlackBerry 7520™ in May 20, 200605 as the first GPS navigation application available on the BlackBerry® platform. TeleNav, which is similar to the in-car GPS navigation systems found in luxury vehicles, displays maps, graphical driving cues, speed and direction, and provides audible turn-by-turn directions to help drivers get to their desired locations.

Customers have greater flexibility with TeleNav on the BlackBerry devices because they are portable and travel with the user. TeleNav automatically updates the map information to ensure the most current driving instructions, making it easier to maintain.

"The BlackBerry 7100i is a great tool for consumers and business travelers alike," said HP Jin, president and CEO at TeleNav. "With the addition of the TeleNav Navigator service, users no longer need to print out online directions or look at traditional maps when traveling to
unknown locations. The information is provided right at their fingertips."

TeleNav features enhanced applications that are not found in conventional GPS navigation systems, including an interactive voice response system, which can be used to input a destination or airport code. Business Finder tracks local businesses such as restaurants or movie theatres, and can research the lowest gas price within a five-mile radius. TeleNav offers multilingual capabilities for Spanish, Russian, French, Cantonese, Vietnamese, Portuguese and Mandarin. In addition, TeleNav GPS Navigation offers the ability to seamlessly use the addresses and locations stored in a user's BlackBerry address book.

The BlackBerry 7100i offers a true mobile office experience, enabling phone, Bluetooth technology, wireless email, personal organizer and data applications in a single integrated device. TeleNav costs $9.99 a month and new customers who sign-up for TeleNav can use the service free of charge for the first 30 days.
